I will develop a specialized MATLAB code to simulate particle trajectories by interpolating flow fields at particle positions. The hydrodynamic input is derived from a Nonlinear Shallow Water Equation (NSWE) solver, allowing the analysis of how combined wave and current dynamics affect particle motion. The nearshore environment, shaped by interactions among waves, currents, and seabed features, is modelled to understand how materials like sediments, microplastics, and pollutants move and disperse. The simulation incorporates particles with varying sizes and densities to realistically represent natural debris. These differences affect settling, resuspension, and transport.
